‘Control’ by Mollie Marriott

Singer-songwriter Mollie Marriott, daughter of Small Faces/Humble Pie frontman Steve Marriott, has recently released the music video for her soon-to-be latest single, ‘Control’.

The song is set for release on 12th May, and is taken from her upcoming debut album Truth Is A Wolf.

‘Control’ is a self-empowering, heavy-hitting, high note rock ballad; with a music video to match its striking sentiments. The track, co-written by fellow bandmate and musician Sam Tanner, speaks of the act of regaining command over yourself and sway over your life choices.

The red-drenched visuals give a very gothic feel to the video; with Mollie’s “Part time witch, Full time weirdo” leather tasselled jacket an enchanting representation of the boldness of her artistry.

Having made her first step into the music industry at the tender age of fifteen, singing backing vocals on demos for Oasis’ Heathen Chemistry at the request of Liam Gallagher, Mollie has continued to graft as an artist supporting the likes of The Moons, Wilko Johnson and most recently Jam legend and modfather Paul Weller; as well as interspersing these dates with her own headline shows.

Inspired by influential female voices, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrisette and Stevie Nicks, Mollie fits snuggly in with those voices, her tone rich and her impressive range wonderfully expressed within her music.

If ‘Control’ is anything to go by, Truth Is A Wolf is set to be a mind-blowing body of work.
